Vince Gastgeb Turned In 822 Signatures for the Ballot

PITTSBURGH , PA  -- Allegheny County Councilman Vince Gastgeb, District 5, demonstrated a strong Republican effort turning in a record number of signatures totaling 822 to the Allegheny County Board of Elections today.  

Vince Gastgeb, who filed with 822 signatures stated, "The electorate is engaged in a variety of issues that face our region, it is humbling and gratifying at the strong early level of support & excitement amongst the Republican Party. I appreciate the firm and vast support, but equally look forward to November in a bi-partisan approach to our Regions issues."   

Vince Gastgeb is serving his second term on the Allegheny County Council and serves on the Budget & Finance Executive/Rules, Public Safety & Public Works committee's. He was written numerous legislation pieces on the parks system, public safety and tax reduction measures. He also serves as Minority Caucus Chair. Gastgeb is employed as a Sales Manager with Sara Lee Foods in consumer sales.  

Allegheny County Council’s powers and duties include approving and amending legislation that is proposed by the County Executive . Council Members may also generate legislation on their own. They are also responsible for the levy of taxes, fees, and service charges, and the passage of balanced annual operating and capital budgets.
